The Newness

As I lay here, about to start another long hard day at work I recollect a few certain memories. I remember searching my room at the apartment for change (mainly cause that's all I had) for a drink and running across the scalding hot pavement to the gas station. The heat burning my throat as I try to breath. Weirdly. I MISS THAT!!! I think about my semi lazy days after work playing ultimate Frisbee with the guys (and occasionally girls) then walking to the nearest swimming pool. Those days were so much simpler. I am glad I made some of the coolest friends here but for some reason its not the same.

Anyway, So I've been here for a grand total of 127 days. My orders said 150 something so hopefully I get out of here pretty soon. I've completed Apprenticeship Technical Training (ATT), where i learned everything there is to know about electrical circuits and what makes them work. Pretty exciting. What's next? Gunners Mate “A” School. This is the school that I learn the Gunners Mate Trade! I'll learn to take basically operate, maintain, and repair weapons and the electrical and pneumatic systems they use to operate! From here I may get chosen for a “C” school which will give me in depth training in a specific area of weapons. If I don't get chosen I will transfer to my next duty station. Hopefully Florida, Virginia, or California! I guess I don't really care as long as it's south and hot.

Since I've arrived here in Illinois I've really gotten into photography! I finally got me a camera and took a trip to Chicago. Here are a few of my favorite pictures. If you would like to order some or see more. Post a comment showing interest and I'll get your information.
