What is to come?

Up till 6 months ago I knew what the rest of my life would entail. I was going to finish school within 6 years. Become a teacher of music somewhere. Get married, have kids, live life, then die. I've now enlisted in the UNITED STATES NAVY (as of february 25 2009) My rate. GM (Gunners Mate). I leave in February 2010 to the Great Lakes Naval Recruit Training Center in North Chicago Illinois. For 8 weeks I'll be broken, and turned into one of the worlds finest Navy Sailors.

The Plan: Serve my country for at least four years, if not six(Great Reenlistment bonuses). I'll then take advantage of the Montgomery GI Bill, as well as the Hazlewood Act and go to school for free somewhere in the great state of TEXAS. From there life is a tossup. I could get my degree and turn civilian. Living in this unsecure world hoping our president doesn't do anything too stupid to screw with the economy... or stay in the Navy. Where I could reenlist as an Officer. Eh, we'll see.
