Christmas Shopping and last weeks of college living.

So, just the other day. I went shopping for Kate and my family and let me tell you this...

I COULD NOT STAND IT! Oh my GOODNESS! After two hours of just looking around I got frustrated enough to just leave and return another day. I realized I'm (like most men) want to get in, get out, and be done. Anyway. The main reason for this post is.

All of you know I must move out of my apartment within the next few weeks. My old room at my parents house is still filled up with my furniture from high school and what not so I won't have any room for the furniture I have aquired here in Stephenville. I would like to sell most, if not all. Here is a list, and if i can figure it out I will post pictures of the furniture for sale if anyone is interested.

1 Nightstand (Name your price. Package deals are available. Lets talk. I'm chill)
1 Bar with 2 stools
1 "Full Size" bed complete with a matteress, box spring, frame, pillow/pillow cases and several comforters and sheets

If you are intersted I really need to get this stuff out as to make my move alot simpler. You can call, text, or facebook, or e-mail me at quadplaya07@yahoo.com. I can't deliver unless you live close to town (or your name is Momma C) Let your friends know cheap but good quality furniture is available.

Counting Down

First I wanted to apologize for not posting more often. I'd like to say I have reason but I don't. I think alot throughout the day and for some reason can't put anything I want to say on screen.
I've had a slew of mixed feelings. I'm excited to leave, yet scared of the unknown. Worried that (through no one's fault. Just because of the distance my job puts me at and being gone for flong periods of time) I will lose touch with the relationships I've made these past few years. You can say that a true friend will always be there, and in some cases i believe, but we all know it will not be the same as it has been.

4 weeks. One and a half weeks left to work and move out of my apartment. One and a half weeks for Christmas/New Years. And one week for paper work and good byes and my "Real" life starts. I don't know. In some ways. I kinda wish I could've just shipped out when I officially enlisted. I would've already gone through boot camp, A School (Job Training) and would've been out in the fleet for 2 and a half months. All this time to sit and think (without school or even band to distract me anymore) is driving me crazy. I'll be alright this time next month. Having already gotten into the swing of things. For you all who have read previous posts you will be glad to know that from the 220 I used to weigh. I've stayed at a comfortable 200 give or take a few but no more than 5 pounds!

Anyway. These next few weeks are going to be crazy. I'll work till next wednesday all the while packing up my life here in Stephenville Tx to move back to Madisonville. The 24-27 will be spent with family. Then it's on to Austin for the Trans Siberian Orchestra!!! with my wonderful woman Kate! I'll get to see Ashley and Trey (Sister and Brother in law, an Officer in the Navy) at the Sparkman Christmas get together.

Cool. Well keep following everyone. I have found someone to write my mails sent from Illinois here on "The Chronicles" to follow my boot campt trials so stay tuned for more.

And I promise it won't be as long of a wait as last time.

New Updates!

So everyone! My recruiter called me this afternoon with some news. If everything went as planned I would be leaving for boot camp the 23 of February 2010. I will now be leaving in 6 weeks on the 13 of January instead! Oh my goodness! I have been talking about this itch i've needed to scratch by leaving Stephenville and getting into the Navy and all it has to offer but the moment that opportunity comes I start second guessing my thoughts. So now I pose a question for everyone.
If you had 6 weeks to live. What would you do?

Virginia Trip! (1)

7-3-09

2'oclock and we've finally made it out of Texas and into Arkansas. And only after two monopoly games, a game of risk, a nap, and four hours of driving did we finally get to take a break at the Arkansas Welcome center. I find it funny the different attitudes we found as we entered the welcome center. As my dad waited in line the lady at the desk would ask "how many people was in our party, where we were headed"and other such questions. She cheerfully assisted the people who were there for Arkansas. As my dad walked up to the front desk. He stated there were four people in our party and that we were just passing through. Suddenly, her attitude changed. She didn't smile as much and just handed us a map and a tour guide and asked for the next customer. (Just thought that was funny.)

Saturday July 4th, we went to the beach and boogie boarded for a few hours then watched the fireworks on the beach. It was really crowded but alot of fun. In fact were going back tomorrow morning to catch the surf all day!

Yesterday was really exciting! We got a personal tour of the U.S.S. Normandy CG 60. A cruiser ship of the United States Navy! I saw up close where'd I as GM would work, sleep and whatnot. I got to see up close the 5" guns one the front and back of the ship, as well as where the captain sits to actually drive the ship! Really cool. Even though the Cruiser is one of the more smaller ships in the fleet (Frigate, Cruiser, Destroyer, Battleship, Amphibious, and Aircraft Carriers) it was still HUGE! We don't have anything but the beach planned for tomorow but Wednesday we are going to Washington D.C. so I will definately post a blog that evening about my D.C. trip. We will then go to Anapolis Maryland to tour the Naval Academy and stuff. More to come! Thanks for following.

.... A few months later.

For reasons I forgot about I didn't finish this post and make a Virginia 2. The trip was a great success! I got to see the White House and The Washington and Lincoln Memorials. It was alot of fun and can't wait to go back.

Weight Loss

So I've enlisted in the United States NAVY. Before I went to MEPS(Medical Entry Processing Station) I worked out and lost some weight to MAKE IT IN to the military but once I enlisted I packed on a few pounds. May 4 I weighed myself at 220. I would like to share that I am now at a wonderful 205.5! Here's how I did it. (Oh. The reason blogged about this: I had recieved questions via facebook wondering what my secret was so I figured I'd post it here.)

"So basically all i did was watch my trans and saturated fats. Keeping those numbers as low as possible. Quit eating out (taco bell, mcdonalds and such) I also went for a higher protein count. Rice, beans, oatmeal are all good choices. When shopping for food (walmart) keep to the outer wall for food. Vegetables and lean meats. Also remember it's all about proportions. An easy way to watch that is to eat slower. Chew your food alot more than you think is necessary and you'll notice yourself feeling content earlier than if you were to eat fast. If you like cereal (cut milk down to a 1%) special k plus protien is one of the healthiest cereals out there. (just a note) Start a simple workout program. I've started doing sit ups, pushups, and a run. Try setting your max the first time you do it. (giving it all you've got!) Then break that down into sets... Lets say my max is 50 sit ups, 25 push ups, and 13 minutes for a mile and a half run. So do 3-5 sets of 25 sit ups 3-5 sets of 13 push ups, (with very little rest time in between push ups and sit ups) and jog your mile and a half.Do this everyday and you'll see the numbers drop. Keep at it, and if i come across any other tips (from reading materials or my recruiter/ sources for most of the material) I'll let you know. Let me know how this all works for you. I'd love to hear your progress. "

So there you have it. I'll post (about this topic) sometime next week to show some more changes!

What is to come?

Up till 6 months ago I knew what the rest of my life would entail. I was going to finish school within 6 years. Become a teacher of music somewhere. Get married, have kids, live life, then die. I've now enlisted in the UNITED STATES NAVY (as of february 25 2009) My rate. GM (Gunners Mate). I leave in February 2010 to the Great Lakes Naval Recruit Training Center in North Chicago Illinois. For 8 weeks I'll be broken, and turned into one of the worlds finest Navy Sailors.

The Plan: Serve my country for at least four years, if not six(Great Reenlistment bonuses). I'll then take advantage of the Montgomery GI Bill, as well as the Hazlewood Act and go to school for free somewhere in the great state of TEXAS. From there life is a tossup. I could get my degree and turn civilian. Living in this unsecure world hoping our president doesn't do anything too stupid to screw with the economy... or stay in the Navy. Where I could reenlist as an Officer. Eh, we'll see.

Anyway... If you are interested in enlisting in the Navy or have any questions feel free to comment.

Till next time.
